F45's lacked the numerous carbody doors of hood units. Instead, two pair of wide carbody access doors were located on the engineer's side and a single set on the fireman's side. ATSF 5922 had the misfortune of having the engineer's side doors swapped in 1981, giving rise to "nta FeSa 5922."
