Baring, MO

Baring was one of many depots along the main line east of Kansas City that was built with a large, main line style bay window. It was also one of several which lost its bay and gained asbestos siding in a 1950's rebuild. The bay window outline could still be seen in the platform bricks when this picture was taken in 1991. A year or two later, the depot was rebuilt again, this time with metal siding, for use by maintenance of way forces. It scarcely resembles a depot today.
