Boise City, OK

Boise City's depot survived in railroad service longer than most small town frame depots. The depot was built in 1925 along the ill-fated "Colmor Cutoff." Six years later, a line reaching north from Amarillo toward Colorado arrived, and Boise City became a junction with a small yard and enginehouse. The depot served the Santa Fe and BNSF until 1999, when it was moved off-site to the Cimarron County Museum in the northern part of Boise City. The photo above shows the depot in 1991, still a fairly faithful representation of the 1910 depot standards. The final paint job was somewhat closer to pink than the usual Santa Fe Colonial yellow.
