Fullerton, CA

The attractive stucco depot at Fullerton was built in 1930, replacing a combination frame depot and tower. The Santa Fe agency closed in 1989, a year before this photo by Neil Ryle. Los Angeles area commuter railroad Metrolink would soon renovate the structure and bring about a number of changes in the station area, including new platforms and a pedestrian walkway over the tracks just east of the depot. The Santa Fe neon sign on the end of the building was also removed.
