Pasadena, CA

The attractive Pasadena depot was a staffed Amtrak stop until 1993, when the Southwest Chief was rerouted via Fullerton. The entire Pasadena Subdivision had been sold to the state the previous year. The eastern portion from San Bernardino through Monrovia remained intact for Metrolink commuter trains and some remaining BNSF business, but the tracks through Pasadena were removed for an anticipated extension of a light rail line. The extension had not yet materialized when the depot was photographed in 1999. The 1935-built structure was reportedly being used for storage by a local company.
