Sibley, MO

The diminutive depot at Sibley has had an interesting life. It was built at Gower, MO on the branch to St. Joseph, and appears to have been a 1910-style #1 standard (16'x40'). In 1964, the depot was moved to Sibley to replace a unique combination depot and tower. At some point in the 1950's or 60's, the depot was rebuilt with grey asbestos siding and lost its bay window. The depot eventually became a maintenance of way building, and in 1991, it was rebuilt again with metal siding and modernized windows. Sam Bailey photographed the structure from his locomotive in January 2001.
