Temple, TX

Built in 1910, the grand depot at Temple, TX also served as the Southern Division headquarters for the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe, the ATSF subsidiary in Texas. R.J. McKay photographed the building following a rare snowstorm circa 1980.
The depot still serves as a stop for Amtrak's Texas Eagle, and has been renovated to become the new home of the Railroad & Heritage Museum as well as offices for Temple Transit. Photos by Brent Frerck.
