Santa Fe Kodachromes

This web page is intended as an archive of images and information on Santa Fe locomotives and rolling stock that were painted in the scheme of the failed Santa Fe - Southern Pacific merger, the scheme nicknamed "Kodachrome" by fans who saw a similarity between its red, yellow, and black colors and the colors of Kodachrome film boxes.

No official roster of SPSF-painted locomotives was maintained by the Santa Fe. The list presented here is a composite of the lists contained in references 1 and 4 in the Bibliography and Credits page, cross-checked with available photographs. A question mark follows the locomotive number when it is uncertain whether that unit wore the scheme or not.
