The first six of Santa Fe's 11 ex-TP&W GP38-2's got red and yellow paint. Whether this was merely coincidental or intentional is not known. Unit 2374, ex-TP&W 2005, is seen on the point of a local grain train at Hereford, TX in 1986. Santa Fe never added dynamic brakes to these units; note the lack of the tell-tale blister at the top of 2374's long hood compared to the db-equipped GP38 behind it.
