GP35 2879 still had its smoke lifters and snowshields when it was photographed at San Bernardino in 1986. In addition, the rear truck still has the big, boxy journals, a legacy of the FT's that Santa Fe traded in to EMD for the GP35's. Copyright 2005 by Lowell Amrine.
