Nathan MS1

The MS1 was the single note the version of the M-series airhorns. It was used on switchers and occasionally on road locomotives in lieu of earlier Leslie Tyfon or Wabco horns.

Factory tuning for the MS1 was: C#

The horn consisted of the M-series #1 bell.

Santa Fe is known to have used the MS1 on some of its Fairbanks Morse freight locomotives. The horn fell out of favor along with the rest of the M-series due to its high maintenance requirements. It may still be found occasionally on museum locomotives.
