Hurley, NM

Hurley represents a variation on the "1910" Santa Fe standard #4 for branchlines. Built in 1911, the depot received a freight room was extension in 1918. Subsequent modifications saw the bay window, waiting room door, and baggage room door covered with clapboard siding. Still serving the Santa Fe when this picture was taken in 1988, the depot passed to the Southwestern Railroad in 1990 with the sale of the copper branchlines north of Whitewater, NM. It was reportedly still serving as their headquarters in 1999.
