The offset bay window on the depot from Jetmore, KS suggests that it was built following the common 24x42' pre-1910 standard plan (see Littleton, CO), but with an extended freight room. The depot managed to escape the garish green and white paint scheme visited upon other depots on the Jetmore branch in the 1970's, and its final paint scheme was an attractive cream color, similar to a light version of Colonial Yellow, with brown trim. The depot was retired in the early 1980's and moved to a field north of Wright, KS, along with the depots from Burdett, Dighton, Hanston, and Bellefont, KS. |
